What, besides aloe, is good for taking the sting and redness out of a sunburn?
Question:
Answers:
Why did you take a HOT shower? Try taking a luke warm bath with a cup or two of white undistilled vinegar. Soak for at least 30 mins and then air dry as to not irritate your skin. Don't worry the vinegar smell does go away on its own. My grandmother made me do this when I had 2nd degree burns and it works great.

But none are miracle cures. It will sting for a while. The best remedy is. time. And wear sunblock. If you have to go in the sun.
Calomine Lotion - lovely pink stuff.
I've heard that Shaving Cream (you can get it with aloe, too) will help take the sting out. You put it on the sunburned area and leave it there until it starts to dry out. I was told that letting the skin absorb the moisture and the aloe will help get rid of the redness, hurt, and itch and that it helps prevent peeling.
NO HOT SHOWER! You are putting heat into heat. If you have a tub take a cool bath with a whole bottle of vinegar. Soak as long as you can. Dab vinegar after drying with a cotton ball. Also, buy some DR.BONNER PEPPERMINT LIQUID SOAP. Dilute 1 part soap to 7 parts water. Use it in the shower. Also refreshing on a very hot day. You get it at Sun Harvest or health food store. It's a real trip to read the whole label. It will give you something to do while you soak in that vinegar bath.
do not take a hot shower! i don't know why anyone would do that. your skin is burned allready why burn it more?
2 things come to mind, vinegar which you soak on a towel and place it on overnight if possible. gives a lovely tan into the bargain or soak in a warm bath with baking soda in it for a while both are great methods and dont cost a fortune
