To my knowledge it is supposedly indeffinate but when I had my hair tested several years ago they told me 3 months.

at the rate your hair grows. you'd have to get it all shaved off or something to hide it. imagine u dye ur hair.that takes AGES to grow out. drugs wud be the same

A lot has to do with the type of drug you are taking. Some will last around 3 months and some will leave the system within a couple months.
