Smashed Finger?

Question:

I recently smashed my finger with a door and although my nail presents blood under (or dark nail) it hasn't fallen yet. The finger is swollen just a bit - although noticeable it is not uncomfortable. There is no pain but a funny feeling and if I touch that area it feels as if I had a cushion. Any suggestions ? I was advised to let the finger run its course. I am aware of the incandescent needle piercing of the nail but I would like to avoid any torture like treatment. Many many thanks

Well, recently one of my friends did the same thing. She just let her nail grow out..it looked funky for a couple of weeks, but eventually grew out. Towards the end the nail started to be eaten away. Even nail polish wouldn't cover the blood mark on her nail..just let it run it's course is my opinion..

I've been there and done that too many times to count. As with blisters,I never intentionally drain them, just let them heal on their own. Works for me

Go to the doctor. I friend of mine (I'm serious) had a problem similiar to yours. After a couple of weeks, nothing happened, and she went to get it checked. It turns out she had cancer. They had to remove half her finger, and had to get radiotherapy and a body scan to check if it had spread to other areas.

Just go get checked. Your life is worth more that what the doctor will charge you. I'm not making this up. Its serious.
