I have a red line on my thigh that moves. Been there for 3 years. Is that a blood clot?

It started near my groin area and has moved up my thigh so now its at the top and keeps moving. I heard this could be DVT or deep vein thrombosis. I am worried it might be and think it might be a blood clot. Am I right to worry? I heard that if this is DVT the part of the blood clot that broke off can travel to your lungs and cause pulmonary embolism which can eventually kill a person.

If it's moving, it's probably an embolus. And since it's moving, i would get it checked.ASAP. Before it dislodges within an artery and goes to your brain, causing stroke.
