Is sertaline a hyponotic drug?

Question:

Answers:
A hypnotic produces sleep. Sertraline, generic for Zoloft is not a hypnotic. It is classified as an SSRI and is used for conditions such as depression, panic disorders and obsessive compulsive behavior.

Other Answers:
Sertraline is a drug that is used to treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Like other SSRIs, sertraline also is used for treating social anxiety disorder and postmenstrual dysphoric disorder.

There is only one case which I could find is in St. John's wort: Sedative-hypnotic effects of sertraline may be increased.
