I need help with swelling in my stomach area.?

Question: I believe I ate some bad chix Sunday night. Monday morning I woke up with what I believed, and still do since I have had it before, to be food poisining. Yesterday I was feeling much better but I noticed I have some swelling in my lower abdomin on the right side where my appendix is. I have done some internet research (the internet is such a wonderful thing)and it looks scary. My docter is not open today, and I am wondering what I am up agienst.I plan on taking it easy this weekend so nothing bad happens.

Your doctor should have an emergency number on their answering machine that you could call and ask. You can also call a local hospital or your health insurance provider and ask to speak to the nurses line. They should be able to evaluate your symptoms and advise you on whether or not you can wait to see a doctor. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!
