My canines haven't grown in for a year. is this bad?

Question: Well, I'm at a young age(11) and lost my 1st canine at the age of 9, and it still hasn't fully grown in! I have no canines currently, is this bad? Or does it mean my body just grows slowly? I need braces badly, and want to know if anything about how my canines are growing in is bad.
