You may have pulled a muscle. If it continues to bother you have it checked out with your doctor. Are you on your feet alot, standing in one position for long periods of time,or sitting for long periods? If so try a little heat then massage to see if this relieves it. If the area looks swollen to you use an ice pack for 15 minutes then heat for 15 minutes and massage. Also before you stand or sit for long periods do some stretching exercises this will help relieve it. An old fashion way to deal with this is to simply lean to one side and swirl the leg around gently, one direction than the next for about 3 minutes. I think they call it physical therapy now a days.

It could be a pinched nerve or poor circulation, even be caused by a colapsing blood vessel or a clogged one. Have a neuroligist check you out and a Good chiopractor or both.Could also be blood clots.
