Any good TMJ remedies? I'm a clencher! I do have a night guard. Exercises?

I used to have TMJ - the best thing for tight jaws or grinding your teeth (I ground mine so hard I went right through a cap that I had had put on and had to have it replaced) is magnesium. Magnesium is a mineral in our bodies that we don't get enough of (unless you like buckwheat pancakes). It helps all kinds of muscle kinks, including the one in your jaw that causes TMJ.
Try 500 to 1000 mg magnesium at night before you go to bed. It will stop the TMJ and also help you to sleep better. Start with the smaller amount, if you take too much at once you may get diarrhea. If you do, just take less the next night.
It works. I'm a gramma and getting up there, but I have almost no aches and pains.
