Question:
Answers:
Mercury is a very strong element and traces of it can be harmful to our blood because its not an element that is essential to our living.
Most farmed Salmon are atlantic salmon and there have been high levels of mercury and pcb in farmed salmon.
check my source for more info
Other Answers:
No. Salmon do not generally live long enough to build up high levels. Larger, longer living fish such as tuna and swordfish will build up levels of mercury through the years, so are more dangerous.
Mercury in fish comes mostly from coal power plants by the way, and the Bush administration has made some controls on mercury voluntary and added loopholes instead of strengthing them. Something to think about when your craving that solid white albacore..
