Do boogers smell? If they do, why don't we smell them pre-picking?

Bugers are a social friendl word for nasiol secretins (mucus) and the only time bugers should smell is if you have an infection (i.e. sinus infection).. the bugers smell will only be aparent to you and it is usuall described as a sour rotting smell.
