wisdom teeth extractions?

Question:
Hi,

I was told by my dentist (who does not extract teeth) that I need to visit an oral surgeon and get all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted sometime soon.

I had braces about 5 years ago and my teeth have stayed in line the whole time without a retainer-- I can still wear my retainers now.

If I get my wisdom teeth removed, all at the same time, will my orthodontic work be affected? Will wearing my retainer for weeks after I get my wisdom teeth removed prevent crooked teeth/misalignment?

Has anyone gotten their wisdom teeth removed AFTER getting braces off? How did your teeth turn out?
Answers:
No. extracting your wisdom teeth generally will not affect the fit of your retainer. I think you'll be good to go in a week or so afterwards. Lots of teens get their wisdom teeth out after finishing ortho.

go for it.

Other Answers:
they turn out find they work that the braces did is done extracting will not hurt them at all

same situation
it is not a necessity that wisdom tooth have to be extracted as a compulsory, unless they are half erupted, give frequent problems, inaccessible to brushing, out of line, etc.
In case wisdom teeth are giving you problem you can remove them without any after effects. except related to surgery.
