Do Ear Candles really suck out a lot of wax out of your ears?

My friends and I tried them on a friend and when they were done, a bunch of yellowish borwn wax was in the bottom tip.Is that all ear wax that was sucked out of his ear?

Ear candles can get wax or other stuff out. A local massage therapist used an ear candle to get a tick out of a rancher's ear when nothing else worked.

I suffer from periodic ear infections and sinus infections. I've been told I have candida in my system. Yes they do work when done correctly. Alway,always do them with someone else and make sure you put a paper plate(wet) in between where you light the candle and where the end is inserted into the ear. Always make sure you are using professional ear wax candles and they can sure make a difference. Like you said it is not a pretty site but other than having a doctor remove the wax I think it is the best way to go even better than the doctor for that matter. They have been used for years. Just follow the instructions, add safety precautions and use with adult supervision if you are young, they can cause harm, wax and fire can be a dangerous combo..

...I have used them personally, not sure if the stuff is ear wax.. according to some research i found on Internet. the stuff is the wax that the candle is dipped in .but hey if you think it works then it does, like the bracelets for arthritis.my Dr. says it does not... my husband says it does.(what does he know) lol.. good luck if you use them again and be sure to use caution.

well i am a naturopathic practitioner so i am all for a natural alternative. However these ear candles are complete bull****. I have tried my own experiments with these and found it all to be a load of garbage. Try some for yourself, i would suggest you wash your hands pull one out of the pack and light it, when it comes time to check for ear wax you will find that ear wax comes from you hand too! I have tried this is various locations, in and out of different sealed containers of varying material and still get the same result."ear wax" comes from every situation with not much difference in volume between each experiment. try 10 in one ear one after the other.you will be amazed at how much "ear wax" can come from such a tinny place.have you ever looked at an anatomy book to see how small that space really is?.come on try this for yourself and move on to greener pastures.

Ear candles are bogus new age BS. They're also potentially dangerous. A lady here in town used to do ear candling, but she stopped doing it after a burning ember from the candle dropped down through the hole and on to the person's ear drum.

No. It was NOT ear wax. Ear candles have been tested and every time, the yellowish-brown crap at the bottom proves to be the wax from the candle itself, NOT from the ear! They "say" the candles produce a vacuum to "suck" the wax out, but you cannot produce a vacuum in an open atmosphere and anyway a vacuum strong enough to suck wax out would pop the eardrum.
