sore and stiff bones/muscles?
ok so my mom has to take like 6 different vitamins every day to keep her bones and muscles from hurting and becoming really stiff. She ran out of vitamins recently and once she wasn't taking them she got really bad bone pain and occasional muscle pain. she's already gone to the doctor a bunch of times and none of them could tell her a specific disorder or disease that she could have. she always has really sore muscles but her bones hurt her really badly.. it there anyone who has heard of any disorder or disease similar to this occuring and if so what can you do to help/cure it ? she has mentioned many times that she wants some kind of natural remedy or vitamin and doesn't want a prescription medicine

There are a few options and routes she can take. First of all she can go and start getting a massage on a regular basis from an experienced certified massage therapist at your local spa or chiropractors office. She can use an essential oil called Rosemary. It's only like $3 or $4 bucks at your natural/health store and she can add about 10 drops to a warm bath and it's really good for sore muscles. She will LOVE IT! She can also use a cream/gel called bio-freeze it's great to relieve sore muscles and helps with inflammation they even have it in a roll on tube which is nice! She could also try acupuncture which is another alternative medicine! Use heat and ice to relieve the pain. Oh and Heat is best when it's WET. Dry/electrical heat is not as effective so try like a herbal pack you can warm in the microwave and have your massage therapist add hot stones to your massage. I hope this helps..so treat your Mom to your local spa and get her an rosemary aromatherapy massage with hot stones..she'll feel brand new! :)

The symptoms you describe can be caused by a vitamin D deficiency. This would also explain why 'vitamins' may help her symptoms. Your mom should have her vitamin D levels tested. The doctor may not know the proper test, which is "Serum 25-Hydroxyvitamin D". Her test results need to be greater than 75 nmol/liter to be close to normal.
If her Vitamin D status is below the numbers noted above, she may need much higher levels of vitamin D than she is currently taking. 1000-2000 IU per day of Vitamin D is SAFE and may be needed to keep her blood levels adequate. Supplements need to be in the form of Cholecalciferol (D3) and NOT Ergocalciferol (D2).
Best wishes and good luck.
