How can adrenal gland fatigue be reversed nutritionally using simple herbs, natural subtances, readily available

Question:

Answers:
Eat REAL FOOD and as much organic food as possible. Eat high quality protein: fish, turkey, chicken, lamb, buffalo, ostrich; plenty of low starch veggies--lots of dark, leafy greens, low glycemic fruits--berries, kiwi, red grapefruit AFTER the meal and not by themselves; snack on sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, macadamia nuts, walnuts, brazil nuts. Eating 4-5 small meals spread throughout the day is helpful. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE: sugar, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, white flour products, processed foods, foods with artifical preservatives and coloring, corn, potatos, dried fruit, fruit juices and fruit drinks, sodas, caffeine, carbonated beverages. Drink high quality spring water.

When the adrenal glands are fatigued there are often other problems involved. The adrenals and thyroid are like "brother and sister" organs. Have your thyroid checked. This is best done through saliva testing as the saliva will indicate the hormone levels in the cells/tissues. Blood tests for homones only show what is circulating in the bloodstream and, therefore, are not as accurate.

Get evaluated for Hypoglycemia. This is the opposite of diabetes. In hypoglycemia, the pancreas produces too much insulin due to consumption of a poor diet, especially refined carbs (sugar, white flour products, processed foods), starchy foods and caffeine. If you are a smoker, it will also have a negative impact upon your pancreas. If one is hypoglycemic, the adrenals come into play and can become very stressed and exhausted as they work very hard to keep your energy up after your blood sugar has dropped. You can get a 6 hour GTT--Glucose Tolerance Test. This is quite stressful on the body. It would be most beneficial to find a nutrionally-oriented MD, clinical nutrtitionist or naturopathic physician as they understand these problems much better than the orthodox MDs--they get virtually no nutritional or alternative medicine education in medical school and can only treat symptoms, not causes. Holistically-oriented practitioners will also be familiar with herbs, supplements, homeopathics, etc. Often a combination of substances and modalities is necessary to overcome a condition such as this one. Get the advice of a competent and experienced professional. This is not a condition that you want to play around with or tend to by yourself.

If you've suffered with adrenal gland fatigue for a long time, BE PATIENT AND DON'T GET DISCOURAGED. It can take time for improvement and healing. Sometimes, this may extend into months, but if you keep moving forward with a good health regimen, your body will come around.

Remember to try and be around positive people and events. Take a break from the news. Any way that you can reduce negativity and stress at this time will be helpful.

If you can exercise, that's great, however don't overdo it!
