Answers:
I will feel physically ill if I see any part of an injection or a blood draw. Not looking is usually enough to help.
Before your appointment try some Rescue Remedy about 10-15 minutes before to help calm your nerves:

I always look the other way when I know a shot is coming that seems to help me a lot. I am terrified of shots. Look the other way and try to focus on some picture on the wall and if there is no picture, focus on the ceiling. Good luck.
Just start thinking of something that you really enjoy and imagine this while getting the shot, but do not tense up it makes it hurt worse and causes bruising.
What are they for? I might be able to show you how to not need shots anymore.
i thought it was going to hurt when i got one but i did not so com down
I was terrified of needles too until I got diabetes while I was pregnant and had to get a blood draw EVERY WEEK! A friend of mine taught me what is called square breathing. You inhale a deep breath for a count of 4, then hold it for a count of 4, then exhale for a count of 4, and hold for a count of 4. I do that and try to visualize somewhere pleasant, and I don't feel the needle anymore. Also, don't tense!! That makes it hurt worse!
I am a nurse and I hate injections and blood draws myself. I ask when I'm getting a needle that they not tell me just to do it. I feel more relaxed that way you can also get medication from your Dr. to numb the area. I hope this helps
