whats the diffence between a perforated n ruptured eardrum?

Question: O AND I HAVE A RINGING SOUND IN MY EAR (HAD AN EAR INFECTION N PERFORATED EAR DRUM WAITIN ON GOD TO HEAL IT :-) ) BUT YEA IZ THAT RINGING SOUND NORMAL?ITZ MADD ANNOYING!

Peforated and ruptured are often used interchangeably. Once the hole heals, the ringing (tinnitus) should stop. The buzzing noise is due to sound waves not being able to be properly conducted across the tear.
