Is Tylenol 3 the heavey duty pain reliever?
Question:
Answers:
It's not "heavy duty" at all.it's only used for the short-term relief of **mild to moderate** pain. Something like Oxycontin would be considered "heavy duty."
Regular XS Tylenol does not contain Codeine, as Tylenol 3 does. The combination of acetaminophen and codeine can be habit-forming like any other narcotic. Do not take a larger dose, take it more often, or for a longer period than your doctor tells you to.
Side effects of Codeine include dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, upset stomach, vomiting, constipation, stomach pain, rash, and sometimes difficulty urinating.
Anyone experiencing difficulty breathing and/or mood changes in conjunction with Tylenol 3 usage should see a doctor immediately.
Other Answers:
The codeine makes it more heavy duty than anything over the counter and you probably took it without food. Next time, make sure you've eaten before you take it and see if that helps.
Tylenol 3 has codeine in it. Codiene is related to opium or morphine. It is not as addictive a oxycodone and is a good pain reliever.
Tylenol #3 is tylenol with codiene as u already know. extra strength tylenol doesn't have codiene. Extra strength is like talking a double dose of regular. Codiene is a controlled narcotic drug. Its not a super heavy duty pain reliver. They are pretty commonly prescribed for mild to moderate pain. Vicodin (hydrocodone), Tylox (oxycontin) and morephine are all way way stronger. They make u nauseated because ur body is making more dopamine than normal and they can be hard on the stomach. best thing to do is take them with milk or a sandwich and lie down for a bit.
