Answers:
In your mother's case, it probably won't. Wheat Grass juice is taken primarily for two reasons: it's high level of anti-oxidants and also it's stamina boost. In an active person, I guess it COULD help promote weight loss due to it's stamina boost, thus allowing them to workout longer and thus burn more calories.
But since you said your mom has knee pain, I'm assuming she's pretty sedentary. Thus, sorry, but the WG juice won't, on its own, cause her to lose weight. UNLESS--she drinks it instead of a meal. But this simply amounts to a diet and so I doubt she would stay on it and thus weight loss would be temporary, at best.
It might because it tastes so nasty it might make her nauseous and not as likely to eat.

The only guaranteed weight loss is to take in fewer calories than you burn. At 102 K your mother is in or near the zone of morbid obesity and needs expert medical care.

Encourage eating filling but low calorie foods like vegetables and fruits and try to get her to exercise.

Even very heavy people and those with bad joints can usually exercise in the water.
never heard that it could but they say green tea can help, the thing is she must stop eating carbs and fats right now. limit her to green veggies, yellow veggies , tomatoes, low fat cottage cheese, low fat milk and low fat artifically sweetened yogurt, broiled or baked fish or skinless chicken breast, and some raw fruit.
