Has anyone ever sought alternatives to drugs when treating depression or chronic pain?

Question:
Have you helped your depression or chronic pain without use of drugs? What did you do?

Answers:
Would suggest it to be rather important to detemine the cause, in both instances.. Continued treating of the symptoms leads nowhere. Whether by meds or alternatives. Getting down to the nitty gritty of the situation remains imperative..

Other Answers:
I've tried St.John's Wort for depression. But all it did was give me a headache EVERY time!

yes there is alternative to treat depression or chronic pain without using drugs and that is support of the friends and family, concern from the loved ones and a strong will power. I belive to recover from any kinda depression or problem there is a recipe called lovephobia and to make that first you have to put 1 spoon of care, concern, understand and mix it well enough until it makes a form of strong will (believe me if all the above puts together properly it happens) and then sprinkle love and serve it to urself or to the person with positive attitude in 21 days its gonna work like miracle. 100% guarantee, gud luck:) alcohol is not your coffee candy.. sleep time tea and mediation are a big help. the side affects from the so called anti depressants just substitute one itch for another

Eat it off and have pitty partys. My aunt went through a horrible divorce. and became an elephant. her daughter is going through the same thing.my cousin.

I sugest if you like to run, if your hometown school is like a small town. go the the school football field and run 4-5 laps a day. you will feel soo much better when you finish the laps. 4 laps = 1 mile.

In football every saturday we ran around the track. Sprint as hard as you can on the "staight a way" and Jog the "curve.

perscription pain pills f*** people up. i saw a kid crush one up and snort it once

i hope this helps, most people dont have time to go joging

*edit, you could take MDMA the love drug. i did it once and ill never do it again. you feel SOOOOO much love. everybody in the world should do it once and never do it again!

Try myofasical release for your pain. Call massage therapy places till you find someone who knows how to do it. It works well. Depression try a counsler maybe. Really though if you are still on meds, talk to your doctor about getting off them. I do not think you are ever suppose to abruptly stop meds. Good luck. depression = exercise. just do 10 minutes of aerobics a day. 2 5 minute sessions of jumping jacks will take your depression and say goodbye.

pain = depends on what pain it is. I use stretching for my wrists, sorta the yoga stretches. lowerback pain; do a belly dance. There is a great herbal product for depression, stress and anxiety called "Anixius" (www.anxius.com). No side effects and it does not contain St. John's Wort.
For chronic pain you might want to think about learning self hypnosis. Hypnosis has an excellent track record in controlling even severe chronic pain. Be sure to go to a certified hypnotist first to learn how to use self hypnosis properly.
