Is there a way to lower your cholesterol naturally?
Question:
Answers:
I've been there.
Only way is lifestyle change & it is not easy. I wish it were.
Plenty of exercise daily.
Lots of non-fried veggies & fruits & whole grain products.
Cut back on all meat especially fatty red meat. Substitute fish.
Don't eat anything fried!
Lots of water, cut back on alcohol.
Only use 0% fat dairy products.
No fast foods or junk foods.
Do use healthy fats like olive oil, avocados & salmon.
Make some meals all vegetarian.
Don't get discouraged - don't give up.
The problem didn't occur overnight & can not be fixed overnight.
Good luck.

Yes, there are many things that you (or your father) can do to lower cholesterol intake.
One:
Eliminate the usage of oils (such as canola oil, vegetable oil, butter, margarine, ect). These products are referred to as hydrogenated. Without getting too deep into the science of it, lets just say they are chemically altered to have a different consistency, and posses what is called “LDL” or low-density lipids, which are in part responsible for heart disease by clogging your blood vessels.
Instead, try replacing all of the previously mentioned products wherever possible, with something like olive oil. It has what is called “HDL” or high-density lipids, which do not clog blood vessels to the same degree as LDL cholesterol.
Another good trick: Example: You are baking brownies and the recipe calls for oil… replace the oil with applesauce. It works!
Two:
Try to moderate the amount of red meat in your diet. Red meat usually has lots of fat and cholesterol in it. Although not as tasty, chicken is, nutritionally, a better choice.
Three:
Eat many vegetables. Vegetables contain nutrients and vitamins that help our body retain normal function. One interesting example: The digestion of celery actually requires your body to use more calories to process it, than the celery provides.
Another reason for eating vegetables is; Vegetables are full of fibrous materials that help your body digest food products. The fiber helps the intestines push the food through the G.I. tract.
All of the points I have outlined, in some way affect cholesterol. I hope this information helps you and your father.
Best of luck and good health to you!

The best thing that he can do is cut as much fat out of his diet as possible. He can eat lots of vegetables and no fried foods. Tell him to bake all of his meats. If he likes potatoes he can eat mashed potatoes. He will have to dedicate himself to doing this if he want to lower his cholesterol. Tell him if he doesn't change the way he eats he runs the risk of clogging the arteries in his heart which can lead to heart disease. Tell him walking 30 minutes a day will also help. I hope this helps.

Since the liver controls this, I would recommend a good liver detox. Personally I use the herb turmeric which has worked very well for me. Try googling it and read about it.
The other suggestions regarding diet and exercise etc are also necessary.
Dr. Batmanheldi suggests that when we are dehydrated, our body can do many things to preserve water. One of which is to create a waxy coating around our cells to help them prevent water loss, cholesterol. Try drinking half your body weight in ounces per day. Ex: 200 pounds = 100 ounces. With-in a very short period of time you should start seeing results.
