What's the best OTC medicine to use for motion sickness?
Question:

The least expensive thing for motion sickness is probably on your kitchen counter- Ginger. That's right good ol' ginger. There have been studies done that show it is as effective and some times even more effective than drugs. And a good thing is you can't overdose. You can buy capsules if you like or make a tea from the root. Candied ginger is available from the market also. This is good because you can keep it in your purse or glove box and chew on it for a "timed release".
because it's not "standardized like drugs you'll have to experiment on how it is most useful for you. I would take some before I was going to be in a situation where I might need it, and also make sure I had some to keep with me for the duration of the trip. for example if I were a coffee drinker I might see how the powder tasted in my coffee, especially since a warm infusion is the most effective way for a lot of herbs. Check it out, I think you'll be pleased. I've had success when I felt nausea coming on and used the candied form.

One of my sons is plagued with motion sickness. We have had great results using Bonine. It is chewable. Can cause some drowsiness but works like a charm. He is now 19 years old and has almost outgrown this malady. Good luck! Dramamine
