Does anyone know how to use a neti pot?

Question: Every time I use my neti pot for my sinuses, it seems to clogged up my ears temporarily. It does seem to open up my sinuses more and it definetely gets that bad smell out of my nose. How bad is it to always get H20 in my eustachian tubes? Should I just stop using it?

Answers:
If you turn your head too far when you're using the Neti pot, it can shift water into the Eustacian tube (which connects your nose to your middle ear). If it clears up by itself quickly, I wouldn't worry about it. If you start to get pain in your ear, or if your ear feels clogged and doesn't clear itself out relatively quickly, you should see a doctor.
