Why wouldn't induced vomiting put an end to heartburn?
Question:
Answers:
Because you brought the acid back up into your esophagus. You should never induce vomiting when you have heartburn because the worst thing for your esophagus is a double burn. Take some Tagament or Mylanta or something, but don't try to make yourself vomit. Next time, you might think twice about eating all that junk, and no, it doesn't make you look tough. My father was a man among men and he knew when to put on the breaks as far as eating and drinking alcohol.

Please don't puke like that again. The stomach acid in vomit will only make your heartburn worse. You might want to get checked out by a doctor to rule out stomach ulcers. In the meantime, lay off the foods you know bother you. And there are some good over the counter heartburn remedies. Talk to a pharmacist. They can recommend a good one.
Vomiting only puts more acid in your esophogus. Take some tums. Obviously, you are an idiot, not a man.
Apart from that, I would think induced vomiting would make heartburn worse, not better, because it would cause your stomach acid to come up into the esophagus.
Sounds like u made the heart burn worse because now ur inflaming ur esophagus. I have both eating disorders and u are showing the first signs of belimia when someone over eats then tries purge or void out what was eaten. How old r u? r u teen or preteen? your stomach has to have a certain level of stomach acid. if you take tums to reduce it, your stomach will just keep making more. If you are having a problem with heartburn or acid reflux, try aloe juice, but it must be cold compressed. the tums commercials are all false. tums is made from calcium carbonate (chalk) that will do nothing to help you. and when they say you get all the calcium u need from tums, they lie. your body cannot absord calcium carbonate. if the aloe doesnt work, i know this sounds bad, but take a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar.
It does work, in the same respect as drilling a hole in your head can cure a headache (at least some kinds). You are in for serious pain until the damage of the cure itself heals.
Cyrus, dude, just don't hang out with those guys & next time don't eat all that junk -- it doesn't make you look cool at all!
I used to think that it worked because it has many times. I mean, it's a simple thing -- you can help stop the heartburn, especially if it's not too bad, by getting rid of all the junk that's causing it. And when anxiety is involved it's especially helpful because, think about it, my mind believed the food to be the cause of the problem, so seeing the vomit in the toilet was enough to ease my thoughts thus allowing me to sleep it off and wake up feeling better. However, a really bad heartburn is not as easy to treat in this manner, so I resort to the antacids for those. Otherwise, I just don't overeat. I steer away from all-you-can-eat meals because I'd rather clean my plate and not feel too full.
