I received this info from a friend a couple of years ago and though strange most work.

> Use Bounce Fabric Softener Sheets.Best thing ever used in Louisiana..just wipe on & go.Great for Babies!

>Bob, a fisherman, takes one vitamin B-1 tablet a day April through October . He said it works. He was right. Hasn't had a mosquito bite in 33 years. Try it Everyone he has talked into trying it says it works on them. Vitamin B-1( Thiamine Hydrochloride 100 mg.)

>This is going to floor you, but one of the best insect repellents someone found (who is in the woods every day), is Vicks' Vaporub.

>Plant marigolds around the yard, the flowers give off a smell that bugs do not like, so plant some in that garden also to help ward off bugs without using insecticides.

>"Tough guy" Marines who spend a great deal of time "camping out" say that the very best mosquito repellant you can use is Avon Skin-So-Soft bath oil mixed about half and half with alcohol.

>One of the best natural insect repellants that I've discovered is made from the clear real vanilla. This is the pure Vanilla that is sold in Mexico. It works great for mosquitoes and ticks, don't know about other insects.

>When all else fails--get a frog ;o)

Another thing I have found is that they are attracted by dark colors and artificial scents,,,

If you eat bananas, the mosquitos like you, - something about the banana oil as your body processes it. Stop eating bananas for the summer and the mosquitos will be much less interested

I have had this terrible flea problem, so I too have been searching and searching for something that isn't full of chemicals. I found this website, dumb me, I should have written the site down, but I didn't. What I did do though was write down a recipe that I found there and I will use. Because the fleas have built up a resistance to everything, including the advantage drops. So, like I said I decided, since the chemicals weren't working, why deal with them let's go back to the old fashioned way of things. This is what I found to do which is safe for humans and animals and repells the pests. For a spray, take a clean empty spray bottle fill 1c water, 4 drops of tea tree oil and 4 drops of lavender oil. Mix well and mist on before going outside. You can also use ucalyptus oil or lemongrass oil. These will repel all those pesky bugs. Plus if you have cats or dogs, add garlic to their diets. I wish I could remember the website, it was lady..? or ?lady.If I remember, I'll let you know. Anyhow I know for a fact that you can find the tea tree oil at your local health food store, I would think they have the other oils there too. Hope this helps. Good luck.
cover him in lard. they wont be able to penetrate the lardy layer. lard owns. or you could cover him gasoline and se thim on fire and the smoke would keep bugs at bay, but I think that's child endangerment or something so dont do it where people will see you.
anti persperent
Home Depot and Loews sell a citronella plant. I have several in pots in my backyard and have not been bitten in 2 years. They cost about 3 dollars each.

Use essential oils' catnip and rosemary;
Last year, several members of the Iowa State University Department of Entomology presented the results of a study on common catnip. Among their conclusions was the fact that an essential oil in catnip is 10 times more effective at repelling mosquitoes than potent chemicals such as DEET.
