"Poppyseeds are relatively high in calcium, which is good for teeth and bones. In China, poppyseeds are used in the treatment of nausea and vomiting. They have a strong nutty flavor, making them the perfect "mixed seed". That is to say that, they can be tasted in a mixed seed, but they are not overpowering. In fact, they compliment other seeds perfectly, by adding a palatable flavor where one may not have been without them."
Poppy sap is what they refine to make heroine. It's the cleanest and healthiest (and unfortunately the most addictive) pain killer. There was an episode on Myth busters where they did a study to find out how many poppy seeds you need to consume to go positive on a drug test. It really surprised them... it was only one!
