I was struck from behind and thrown across the hall in high school. My head struck the lockers, then the concrete floor. I should have had things checked out, but that costs money. The bastard got away with it, the principal gave me detention and the perp got suspended because the male population of my school was out for his blood. The only time any guy ever bothered to rally to my cause.

I'm not sure I understand your question. From what I gathered you want to know if anyone has suffered an injury from an accident or medical negligence in the past few years. Dude, or Dudette! Millions of people would qualify for that.
A couple years ago, I was with a friend hunting in January. It was about 20 degrees outside, the wind was blowing horribly. So bad, we decided to get down from our deer stands and head to the house. When we got back to our house, my friend (a tax attourny) got a call from someone who had a house down the lake from his cabin. At my friend's cabin, on Wolf lake, he had a floating peer. With barrells and styrofoam underneath, this peer would just float on the water. It had blown down the lake after it was broken loose from it's ties, and ended up about a half a mile down the lake. Anyway, he asked me to help him tie the peer to his boat and drag it back to his property. He offered a few beers so I said "what the heck?"
Keep in mind I have long johns on underneath my blue jeans, which are underneath my coveralls; two pairs of socks on my feet that are inside some thick hunting boots; an undershirt, thick cotton camoflauged shirt, under my extra thick hunting coat with a hoody. A pair of gloves and a camo, hunting cowboy style hat. Needless to say, I was warm at 5:00am when it was about 12 degrees outside and windy.
So anyway, we get the boat, and the beer. When we launch the boat off the trailer, we broke the ice on the lake. The lake was icing over. This lake (Wolf Lake) was the old Yazoo River in Mississippi that was created years ago when they changed the flow of the river by damming up an area. So it's about 200 yards wide, and about 8 miles long. Anyway, in the middle of the lake, there is no ice. It's just beginning to ice over.
So we're in the flat bottom boat with an outboard motor. I'm sitting on the second row of seats, no one up front, no one in third row, and he's in the back controlling the motor. Since I can swim like a fish and he can too, we tossed the life jackets in the middle of the boat. With the 1 beer that was left from the 6 pack on top of the jackets, in a bag with the truck keys and his wallet, I was on my second beer, he was on his third. When I got in the boat, I noticed he had the emergency cut off line just laying on the seat next to him. It was supposed to be attached to his belt loop, in case he got thrown overboard the engine would shut down.
I saw all of this and didn't think it would matter. But we're flying down this lake as fast as that boat can go, the front is sitting up out of the water, I'm leaning forward to try and make the front drop down. He says "You look to the right, I'll look to the left, for my peer. It has white railing, I just painted it three weeks ago" So I'm looking to the right, and out of the corner of my eye I see a huge floating log right in front of us, longer than the boat but exactly perpandicular, so it would make a T when we hit it. Before I could say (watch out for the.) we were on top of it. I was thinking to myself for that split second, "OK we're going to go over this log, but what's going to happen when the motor hits?" BAM! The motor hit the log, I get thrown forward and my legs go underneath the front seat. My body goes over the front of the boat and I hyper extended my right knee, tearing my ACL ligament. I grabbed the side of the boat and was trying to pull myself back into the boat, my foot was stuck and my knee was screaming with pain. Well, he was holding the outboard motor and when the boat stopped and threw him forward, the log knocked the motor up in the air. It was on one of those swivel things. Anyway, the prop came back down and when it did, it was turned side ways, going fullspeed. So the boat does a fast 360 degree spin and throws us both out of the boat.
The water feels like thousands of needles hitting your body, it's so cold. I sink like a brick with all the clothes I have on. I'm kicking and swimming back to the top. Inhaled some water, I was coughing and gasping for air. I get to the top and see him swimming for the boat that is going full speed with no one in it. It's going in a large circle so I'm thinking, "it's going too fast to catch it, I might get run over by it!" All the while I'm trying to stay on top of the cold @ss water, I keep sinking from the clothes I have on. I look to the right and it looks like about 120 yards that way, behind me about 75 or 80 yards. So I say, start swimming to shore.
Every now and then, a wave from the boat will cover my head and I go under again. I realized I'm not moving very fast. It's hard to swim with the boots and all the layers of clothes I have on, but if I try to take anything off I'll start sinking again. So about 30 minutes of swimming I'm totally give out. Still have like 40 yards to go before I get to the treeline. There were Syprus trees growing in the lake. I flip over on my back to catch my breath and realize, I'm hyper venalating. I need to calm down. Control my breathing, pace myself and I can make it. I'm not going to die in this lake. Not today! Not like this! That's what I told myself.
I'm doing the back stroke, so exhausted, my blood is moving from my extremities to my torsoe to protect my organs from the cold. I can barely move my arms and legs now. I see a branch of a tree over head, so I think I can stand. I try and BLOOP, I go under like a rock. Kicking with all I have I get back to the top. I hear him on the shore. "Swim damnit Swim" "Don't make me get back in that cold *** water!" He smartly shed his jacket, kicked off his boots and beat me to shore.
I finally make it to about 5 foot of water and I can stand. My feet are sinking in the mud on the bottom and I'm stepping on limbs or roots or something as i'm walking. Breaking through ice, I know I'm going to make it now. Then when the water gets about knee high, my right leg collapses.
I can't stand! I hit the cold *** water and ice again. I stand back up. Take a step an it collapses again. I'm thinking my knee is broke. I crawl out of the water on my hands and knees. Muddy, wet, freezing, and exhausted I lay on the shore. He got up and walked up the hill. "Come on Chris", he says. There is a house over there. We need to get there before we get hypothermia. So I grab a long stick and use it as a crutch. I'm walking through a field of mud toward the house with smoke comming out of the chimney. I'm thinking yeah. FIRE! I can do this.
But every time my left leg gets stuck in the mud and I have to push with my right leg, It collapses and I fall down in the mud. I tell him there's no way I can make that walk. It's about a half a mile on the other side of this field that looks like was just plowed a few days ago. He sees a Jeep down the side of the feild. Runs over to it and the next thing I know, I'm getting in a Jeep and riding to that house.
This really nice black lady strips me down, wraps my knee with an Ace bandage, gives me some dry warm-ups that belong to her husband, sets us in front of her fireplace, and makes some hot coffee. She saved our lives.
My parents finally got there at about 7:00pm. I was popping Tylenol like it was candy.
My dad helped him get the boat. He got lucky and the boat came to rest on our side of the lake. He grabbed a long stick and pulled it to shore. Got in the boat, went down to his truck. Loaded the boat ditched the beer, and my dad drove back to the ladies house, took me to the hospital where I screwed up and since he was my friend, when the police asked me if alcohal was involved and I said no.
I could have gotten PAID! After all was said and done, he told me to sue for doctors bills and his insurance would cover it. $30,000 in doctors bills, therapy, and lost wages. And $20,000 for pain and suffering, was what I got. I didn't get a lawyer so all the money was mine. Except the bills.
Now, when you have a near death experience like that. You're outlook on life changes. I don't sweat the small stuff any more. Worry? Worry about what? The only thing I'm worried about now, is am I living my life as God wants me to? He was with me that day. He pushed me to shore. I want to act and do good in his eyes.
