can someone catch poison ivy from someone who has it?

yes. even if you cannot catch it by the plant if some1 with it has a open sore more and likly u will catch it! no. It's not contagious. You get it from the sap of the plant. If someone has the sap on their clothes or you pet a dog that has brushed up against it and has the sap on its fur then you could get it. Wash your clothes and hands after being near it because it can cause a rash for sometime if you come into contact w/anything w/sap on it.

i know that if you have it.. there is a weed out there that will help called juniper weed. it's an orange flower type of thing and i normally find it NEAR poison ivy, in ontario, anyways. Google it and see what it looks like.

While yer at it, google "poison ivy" Im sure yer going to get a better and more concrete answer from there than here.
