How common are Brown Recluse Spider Bites?

Question: Ive noticed that a lot of people are suggesting that bite of a spider could be a brown recluse spider. but how common is it?

Answers:
It's hard to know because even though brown recluse bites can be quite serious probably most bites are no more serious than a flea bite. Then there's the problem of identifying the spider.
