Why does salt and lemon juice help heal a wound?

Question:
I've been wondering. Salt and lemon juice would normally make a wound sting. But why does it help heal the wound? Could it be that the pain stimulates the tissue and blood to heal faster or is there something in the two that heals the wounds?

Answers:
Yes they do, salt alone is a drying agent it's widely used for preserving food from bacteria and decaying, because of its' properties if apply on wound,it would naturally helps to disinfect and stop bleeding. The stinging pain one has is because it kill some tissue and cells in the process of dry healing. Lime juice on the other hand (with it acidity) work pretty much like a cleansing agent (like detergent) it removed impurities, germs and other stain when applied but OUCH!! why do one have to resort to such painful means of healing. I wouldn't recommend mixing both or either because it's messy and not properly sterilize may complicates simple wound. If you really want the convention style try the cowboy way, open a bottle of Tequila, shoot down afew quick shots and spit some on the wound..
The acidity of the lemon acts as a cauterizer. I've never heard of salt actually assisting in the healing of a wound. Sorry.
