Your absoute first step should be to contact the Department of Health in your state to see exactly what you can and can't do. In some states, you may only be able to work as a consultant; in others, you may have more freedom.

Then, decide on a focus for your practice and work toward becoming an expert in the field.

Once you have your mind pointed in a specific direction, you can focus on actually opening a practice. I wish you the best of luck with it.

Research is key to anything. Also crunch the numbers, i have had my own little fitness company and found that it is much easier to simply be mobile and service people in their own homes than to maintain a place of bus.

In order to practice any form of alternative therapy you must have qualifications like diplomas or certificates in whatever you want to practice in, Once you qualify you must have insurance to cover any form of malpractice or accidents whilst on your premises.

It depends on WHAT you will be 'practicing'.some require extensive education and certifications. Others still require some level of training, but no licenses or certifications.
