has anyone tried diet tab ephedra? do u recommend it and does it keep u awake and focused?

As Dr lentfer said it is now off the market and largely unavailable. I have taken it in the past for weight loss and alertness and found it to definitely reduce my appetite and also improve my alertness, but I also felt very nervous, had "palpitations" and had trouble sleeping even up to 16 hours after taking it! I do not recommend it, I feel the ill effects are worse than the benefits.

Thanks to the USFDA, ephedra is now illegal. I am a licensed acupuncturist, and the drug ephedra, or ma huang in Chinese, was used traditionally for asthma and other lung-related illnesses. Due to the abuse from some people using ephedra as a weight-loss aid (which is dangerous and not recommended by any doctor I know) and the consequential heart problems, it is difficult if not impossible to find in the US now. If you want to lose weight there are much better options including ear-acupuncture, hypnotherapy, detoxification programs, diet control, exercise, etc. You could also try green tea. It's safe and has many health benefits and has been traditionally used as a weight-loss aid in China.
I agree with both of the previous responses. When I was a stupid kid around 20 or so, my buddies and I used to call the pills "aggrivators" because we would fly off the handle over nothing at all. Of course we were taking up to 20 a day (did I mention we were stupid?) for about a month for the speed effect. They are dangerous and addictive. As for weight loss, sure they worked for a while because you don't eat and always have a hollow feeling in your stomach. It sucks, but the best way to lose weight is proper diet, exercise, and sleep. I wish I could stick to the routine myself. Good Luck!
