Worse than heroin. you are still addicted to something. But legal cause the pharmaceutical companies made sure of that.
It saved my life. I was a heroin addict, finally went on methadone for 10 years; during that time I went to college and graduated with a 4.0 GPA (4 years of college) got a good job.
Getting off of it was hell. for about a year I felt nothing emotionally; I was a zombie.
It works if you want it to work and you make it work.
I would advise against taking high doses -- it's just that much harder to detox. I've been off 15 years now.
i dont have a problem with it. it helps people quit heroin.
and to the idiot who spews anything negative about big pharma that he can, methadone is comparable to a smoker using nicotine gum. sure its addictive, but the goal is to gradually taper them down until their body is no longer/less dependant on it. and its a lot safer than shooting heroin on the street.
Methodone is a great drug but it should never be used for recreational use. It is intended to wean you off of herion. It is highly addictive and should not ever be taken without a doctors supervision.
