Are ear candles safe to use?

Question:

Are there any expert opinions or experienced users out there? On one hand, I've heard that they are great...and on the other hand I've also heard that they don't really do anything and can actually be dangerous. Anyone care to set the record straight for me?

They don't work AT ALL. A wonderful hoax for gullible people inclined to believe pseudoscience.

I tried them, they were kind of scary. But it didn't help me.
