is there any oral insulin (not spray, tablet or syrup available) give me the details (homepage of the cos)?
Question:
Answers:
no so far there is no oral preparation of insulin as it gets degraded in the acidic media of stomach..
Other Answers:
Studies concerning it are currently undergoing but I seriously don't recommend it. Why? Insulin is a protein which can be digested just like other proteins in the food. The stomach is a very acidic environment and proteins are quickly denatured (rather like milk ‘curdling’). The presence of food will also influence absorption and make a dose less predictable. This is why oral insulin has never been successful.
