how long do the effects of drinking a whole bottle of cough syrup last?

just wondering cause i saw a video of a singer that did that earlier and he looked/acted normal like there was nothing going on.

Answers:
i dont know how long it lasts but i do know that it works cuz i accidentally did it. i would wake up coughing and drink alittle then i realized that i was messed up and i had drank all the cough syrup. but i dont remember how long it was for.
