Can probiotics (acidophyllis) really boost the immune system?

Question:
Are there unbiased reports that prove either way?

Answers:
I have seen great results since starting probiotics. I purchased them from a local health food store.

Let me explain something that is rarely discussed when the topic of probiotics come up. You are born with 2-3 pounds of probiotics in your alimentary canal when you are born. You also get essentially important through the birth canal (if you weren't a c-section baby), and through the breast milk (god help those who were not). There are literally 10 times more living good bacteria in a healthy body, than there are actual human cells in your body. That's how essential the symbiotic relationship is to these bacteria, without which we can not digest, eliminate and have a healthy immune system, not to mention produce over 400 difference essential vitamins and substances, e.g. b12, proteases, interferon, hydrogen peroxide, etc.

It is the absence of essential strains of good bacteria like acidophilus that causes the immune system to crash. Putretive bacteria (mostly anaerobic) and indigenous yeast like candida albican take hold of our system when we lack the natural probiotic checks and balances to keep them at bay. This is the reason why Antibiotics are so devastating, and completely misrepresented in terms of their efficacy, safety and supposed necessity. They destroy the ancient heritage of good bacteria without which we inevitably will become sick.

I wouldn't make the mistake, though of taking just acidophilus. Take a good probiotic, with at least 10 strains of bacteria, and if possible incorporate a fermented live food like kimchee, sauerkraut, and kombucha. Sauerkraut alone, has over 30 strains of Lactobacillus Plantarum, which is essential, for instance, in preventing urinary tract infections.

Ultimately, removing all antibiotics from one's life will help: yes, toothepaste contains sodium flouride, which is antibiotic in action, as does chlorinated tap water, as do thousands of preservatives that are found in foods.

The question might not be: can probiotics (acidophilus) really boost the immune system, rather: can our immune system really function without them? The resounding answer is NO>
Probiotics is very helpful in boosting or balancing the immune system. Especially if you have taken antibiotics for extended peroids.
acidophilus, have been called a second immune system; because they put the brakes on growth of disease-causing bacteria, such as salmonella and shigella-caused dysentery, various types of diarrhea, and even virus-caused flu.
