It hurts when you move your wrist some ways and it doesnt help if you use it all day like typing ect.
if you use your hands alot like typing, playing an instrument, or doing something constantly it seems. then you may have it. i had it for awhile and had a very bad problem with my arm and hand falling asleep.. i would have to wear braces to bed so they wouldn't fall asleep because it would get very bad and not wake up for awhile Yea could be or you could have tendonitus. On the 2nd wrinkle on your wrist tap on the center of your wrist with your finger and if it feels like electricity going up your hand you have carpal tunnel
CTS causes numbness, tingling, and/or pain in the thumb, index finger, and 1/2 of the middle finger, in most people. that's the area of the hand that is innervated by the median nerve, which is the one that goes thru the "carpal tunnel" pain in the palm of your hand is not likely to be carpal tunnel syndrome. see a doctor for evaluation

Personal experiance My son, his mother-in-law and myself all have carpel tunnel. The motehr-in-law was the only one who had surgery. Severe pain in the wrist and hand when using followed by periodic numbness, sometimes with tingling in the fingers. It depends on how far it's gone. Best to see your doctor to make the diagnosis. But before doing that, if you can, purchase a bowlers wristband, with the metal stay in it. If you are able to work with it, then do. This should help. Also, as an old home-style remedy, which helps me is get a small tub and fill it with very warm water with a little bit of epsom salt in it. Epsom salt is for soaking strains and sprains and has several other uses. This helps to reduce swelling and if you're not allergic to anything, try Advil or if you can handle caffine, use Excedrin. This is great for pain. That's IF you can take these things. Do not take if you are on other meds and unless your doctor says it's okay.
Carpal tunnel is caused by compression of the median nerve by a misaligned carpal bone, the tendon sheath in the wrist, or a forearm muscle.
carpal tunnel is characterized by numbness, tingling, weakness, and/or pain in the thumb, index, and half on the middle finger. Any other symptom presentation is not carpal tunnel. It is more common in people who work with their hands all day.
A more complete history and exam is needed to diagnose your symptoms
