Chronic Pain?

Question:
Does anyone have any advise on dealing with chronic pains i.e. Pancraes? Girlfriend is a lifetime sufferer, no cure as far as doctors are concerned, just learn to live with the feeling of being stabbed every 5 minutes.

Answers:
I have hereditary pancreatitis, but fortunately I have not had an acute attack for 9 years. I totally understand the pain that she must be in. From my own experience It is absolutely excruciating. My Gastoenterologist told me that if it flared up again I could be prescribed morphine. Don't know if she already takes that? The other things are, as you probably already know, low fat diet, no alcohol and keeping cholesterol levels to a minimum. I don't know what type of pacreatitis she has, but I am aware that if it is connected to the pancreatic or bile duct ( it is not wide enough for bile to travel through, and you get a build up which triggers inflammation of the pancreas ) there is an operation you can have to stretch it. It has been performed in both America and the UK. I don't know if this information is useful, you may already be aware of these things, but I would definitely see your Doctor and ask for some long term pain relief. I find that when I get stabbing pains and vomit bile I take anti-inflammatory. Not brilliant but they do take the edge off a little. Don't use paracetamol as it can aggravate it. I wish you all the best and hop she can find some relief as respite from this nasty illness. P.S All I CAN SAY ABOUT THE ABOVE ANSWER IS THIS IS A MAN WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHAT REAL PHYSICAL PAIN IS.
Do Yoga and see a good homeopathy doctor.Yoga cures so many problems especially chronic ones and same with homeopathy if it suits a person
