Self-motivation is just another name for self-discipline. Those of us who are lacking in discipline like to think that we can motivate ourselves somehow so that we won't need so much discipline to pursue some course of action. But I'm afraid not. Bottom line is you just have to force yourself to do things sometimes when you don't feel motivated to do them.

Take sometime to sit down and write down what are you doing , meaning your actions. are they following your goals in life, or are your actions taking you somewhere else.Think about what has helped you previously, how it worked and under what circumstances, this is really introspective.
After that, write down all the things that could help you to achieve your goals, maybe exercise, read books about motivation, go to a good shrink, meditate. or learn how to meditate and see if that works, try different things; figure out what can really help you. what works for others doesn't necessarliy work for you and vice versa, listen to yourself. take deep breathes and work on it.. love is action..it's never too late to get better, that's what life is really about right? Try it one day at a time, we only have our present so take advantage of it!
