Elbow flexor?

Question:
how could an elbow flexor be torn in forcuful throwing of a ball?

Answers:
The elbow flexors (biceps, brachialis, brachioradialis) can be torn while throwing a ball if the elbow leads the forearm too much. If the ball is too heavy, and the wrist and hand lag behind the elbow, the upper arm goes into extreme lateral rotation. The flexors will try to remedy this and pull the lower arm and wrist forward quickly; too much force against too much resistance may tear those muscles.

Also, at the end of throw, as the ball is released and the arm and elbow go into flexion, lack of stability at the elbow may allow hyperextension, again tearing the flexors. Any rotation of the lower arm, such as in an attempt to throw a curveball or a slider might have the same effect.
