Anyone know what the hours are like for an anesthesiologist who works for a big hospital?

Question:
I mean compared to that of a orthapedic surgeon who can work over 60 hours a week...

Answers:
anesthesiolgists work the same as orhtopedists... they may work in the ER crazy hours & shifts, or in an outpatient surgery center, but as someone else said, you can't do surgery w/o anesthesia. No, you won't have "in office hours" with follow up post-ops" but you will but putting in more hours doing more procedures.

Other Answers:
I did a report on anesthesiologists this year and it's about 60-70 hours. This job makes BIG bucks.
well the surgeon can't work on a patient that's awake. seems to me the hours are as long as the surgeons.
