Chiropractic. quackism or valid therapy?
Does accupuncture hurt and is it really effective?
Answers:
Depends on the chiropractor. I had one chiropractor who treated me after a car wreck. I couldn't walk the day after and he got me back feeling great within 3-4 months. Later, I was experiencing back pain and went to another, it was horrible and made me feel worse. As with everything, just depends on if they know what they're doing. Is brain surgery quackism or valid therapy? Depends on if the surgeon is properly trained and skilled.

If it ducks like a quack!
Check out Quackwatch, or do a search on the CSICOP site, it's all a load of old codswallop, like reflexology, it depends on a homuncular concept of the body that was disproved centuries ago. So much 'New Age' stuff is ancient, pre-enlightenment crap re-cycled. Same Shite, different bucket!
A health drink I believe is called someting like "mymovai".?
Valid, I always feel fantastic after I've visited the chiropractor.
depends on who you go to. i personally wouldn't have someone push, poke and prod me.then twist the hell out of my neck ( a very risky practise.which has be proven) then charge me loads of pounds for the priviledge. do pilates or yoga..by a qualified attentive instructor.you will reap the same benefits..and strengthen your body in the process.
painful at the time.expect to scream like a girl, but it can be very beneficial in treating the cause and not just treating the pain.
height-increasing medicine are effective or not?
It does help when u have serious trouble from time to time. But don't be misguided. If you have problems like a disc prolabs for example it wont heal you. It's more or less something symptomatic.
Definitely valid. My husband couldn't walk from the pain on his back, so I took him to the emergency room where they took a number of x-rays, gave him pain killers, etc. Finally, the attending physician recommended a Chiropractor and we went that very morning. After 3 sessions he was as good as new. That was last year -he's still OK.
any suggestions for dealing with ADHD without use of medications for an 11 Year old?
Hi! Quackism that is a real good word for these so called doctors I have severe arthritis and deteriorating joint disease I went to a Chiropractor the next day I was in the emergency room with 2 hairline fractures in my legs and my back was unbearable could'nt walk.My real doctor who has M.D. after his name chewed me out everyway you could imagine when I told him I seen a chiropractor. But I do know a couple of people who will swear by them I guess everyone has there own experience, but my option is if they are not an MD,I aint going!
real cure for alzheimer's disease?
I can only speak from personal experience. I suffered a while ago from a re ' ocurring back problem. I was in absolute agony, and my GP just gave me pain killers and anti inflammatories for it, which took the pain away, but didn“t solve the problem. After visiting a chiropracter, he diagnosed the problem to be Sciatica, due to slight movement of one of my vertabrae.
He manipulated my back, and instantly the pain was gone, and I mean absolutely instantly. I crawled into the place, and walked out. I have also had my kneck manipulated to cure stress and headaches from time to time, and really enjoy the experience.
I do believe there are good and bad Chiropracters out there. I went to this particular one on reccomendation from a friend. I would advise you do the same if you are considering it. As far as cost, I paid in total 70 pounds for the back treatment. It was worth every penny, as the problem has never occured again.
Does anyone know a good way to quit smoking tobacco?
I always feel better after a chiropractic adjustment. sometimes it's 25% better; and sometimes 100% better; but I ALWAYS feel better than when I first arrived there. And, back several years ago, when I was very ill with lupus and it's related problems, and chiropractic not only made my life more bearable, I think it actually saved my life.
Chiropractic is a without a doubt NOT QUACKISM. It has proved itself time after time for being one of the best, non-surgical, approaches to spinal related pains. Millions of Americans have and continue to have positive results with it. The whole issue of "quackism" was initiated mostly by the medical association in an attempt to discredit a valid and effective method of treating patients with back pain.
It really depends on the chiropractor. I've experienced favorable results. Others have not. But pretty much anything that helps people which does not line the pockets of those associated with established medical health practices will be promoted as quackery. Not so much with chiropractic practices any more, although they tried hard to stop it when it was first introduced.
BSG says it all...
AARrRHHH! NEED ACTUAL ANSWERS!?
Valid. Nothing quackish about it - it is a way to ease pain by manipulating spinal imbalances, or other posture disorders. Chiropractors have to be qualified and they do help many people.
