Well lets see..gargle with warm salt water..that helps..also I have heard that u can take a really hot shower with the door closed and the steam that builds up in the bathroom is good for you to breath in.its supposed to help the sore throat...or u can boil some water on a stove and place a towel over your head and breath in the steam from it.

It's very hard to soothe a sore throat because the sore part is your breathing passages. And it's virtually impossible to get medicine on them. Chloraseptic spray is the most likely to work because a little bit of aerosol may contact the inside of your pharynx . but you'd kinda have to inhale it, which is no fun and very tricky. And then repeat it in 20 minutes after it wears off. ack. So my preferred remedy is 1) take Tylenol and 2) honey-lemon throat drops with menthol, sucked far back in the throat - the cool numbness at least "seems" to soothe the sore throat, by providing a competing sensation for the nerves there to convey to the brain.
