Emotional Release During Massage?
I got a massage a while back and as she worked on a spot on my lower back I started to feel great sorrow. Grief even. I cried a little but mostly I was just overwhelmed. When she was finished I was as white as a sheet and felt like I might pass out. I spoke with someone who says there is actually a type of massage to help release dormant emotions we have not yet dealt with. What is this called? Is it healthy? I assure you this was not a feeling of physical pain...it was strictly emotional.
Answers:
emotional release is the best kind of healing in my opinion. it doesn't always take any special technique or a professional therapist to trigger it in another person. sometimes it just happens when the time is ripe and you are ready to begin letting go. sometimes it's words, or a touch, perhaps a fragrance. the best thing to do is just allow yourself to experience that emotion without judging it or trying to figure out where it is coming from. every time this happens to me i feel lighter and like i have collected a piece of myself that has been lost.
most massage therapists understand the connection between the emotional and physical, so it is generally safe express, but if you have any doubt just mention what you are feeling with your therapist to see if they can hold the space for you.

Not sure what you actually call the massage process. We do tend to store emotions in the body so it does happen.Alex
there is something called "somato- emotional technique" which is taught thru the Upledger group that teaches cranio-sacral technique... you may or may not be able to find someone in your area that does it... I dont think anyone in my area does it...
I had a similar experience once doing yoga... for no good reason i just started sobbing while i was in a pose - I had heard of this before too. our bodies & muscles apparently hold stress & tension & some of the emotional stuff that gets left behind with that (think about the tight muscles you get when you get upset or stressed out)...
I dont know that i'd want to purposely go release stuff... I think your body lets go when it's ready to. just my opinion.
Is anyone aware of any Medicinal Medicines for pancreatic Cancer?
Wow! I will be interested to know what's going on!
My experience is that the feeling is good when the massage is done to relax your body. You may get a 'high' feeling too.
Man, if you turn white, something's not right. Don't go back! Try another to confirm if the person who did the massage is the problem or you may have discovered it is time for a full body medical check-up!
Get your hopes up that you are well and healthy.
I am a reiki practitioner and although I am not a massage therapist, it sounds like she was working in the "root" area of the chakras. During reiki, or any kind of energy/body work, an emotional release is possible and sometimes even proubable. I am not aware of any particular massage "tecnique or type of" but my guess is, there is one. There are many different types of massage, as well as body work modalities. You can always research this on the internet. I have done reiki sessions with clients who have had a similiar type of "release." The almost passing out feeling you describe... sounds like you needed to be "grounded" before you left her office. When I am done with a session, I always ground the body to this earth plane by doing the feet (again) last and planting their feet as it were (through energy grounding) and balancing.. sometimes if you do a sweep of the aura, it will have a similiar effect. Can you ask the person that worked on you?
Sounds like she was doing some good energy work on you, and you just need to have a better understanding of it. I would go back and see if you two could have a conversation about what was going on, on the physical, emotional, and spiritual levels.
good luck and blessings,

How Do I Cover up Marijuana Smoke?
The last massage I got I WEPT like my heart was broken. Since I live in an area where Hurricane Katrina wrecked our very existence, this is understandable. Yes it releases pent up emotion. We need to do this once in a while. Did you feel better? I did.
If they were to legalize marijuana?
Alternative and complimentary therapies manipulate the energy in and around our bodies to regain balance and work on all levels -- physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. It is not uncommon to have this type of release during a session. As a matter of fact, it's a sure sign that you've found a great therapist whose energy and technique can help balance your energy. Did it also help you recall a memory associated with the emotion? Sometimes this type of work is less costly and easier on us than going to a traditional psychotherapist!
If your therapist also offers a massage called a "raindrop", you might want to consider having that done, as well. Specific essential oils are placed on the body and massaged into the skin. It is an extremely relaxing massage that balances the body in two ways -- traditional massage and aromatherapy, which also works on body, mind, emotions, and spirit.
You might also want to consider setting an intention before you go in for your massage. Have a chat with you angels and say, "OK, folks. Here's what we're gonna' do. I'd like to release (insert issue) to the universe for healing. Please help guide the therapist's hands to facilitate this balancing. Thanks!" (Always thank your angels in advance and afterwards!) You'd be surprised how well this can work! I know it sounds weird, but it can work wonders!
Is there any home remedies to get rid of Human Parasites?
There are several types of bodywork that can help facilitate the release of emotions. The suggestion of the Upledger Institute's SER is a good place to start. Hellerwork and Trager are also other possibilities. Some massage therapists have no formal training but seem to have a knack for empathy.
If you were white as a sheet, what do you think that was about? How did the massage therapist react? Obviously some part of you felt safe enough to release the emotion otherwise you wouldn't have done so. Maybe your mind needed some comforting as to what was going on.
I'm a bodyworker myself and it was after receiving quite a bit of bodywork before I started having emotional releases. They're not required, but when they do happen, my experience is that they deepen my experience of being human. I look forward to them now.
Kudos to you!
