Scalp problems. What should i do besides taking antibiotic pills?

Question:
I have this scalp problem for 2 years already. At first, i tried to stop it using antibiotic. But whenever i stop my course, the acne will come back. I know it would not be recommendable if i take antiobiotics for long term. What should i do? Am i like of any minerals? vitamins?

Since you're in the alternative medicine section, I'm going to assume you are looking for an alternative medicine answer.

Breaking out is a symptom of your body trying to rid itself of toxins. Toxins come from what you eat, what you put on your body, and the environment in which you live. Most likely it is related to something you're ingesting. I.e., eat crap and your body tries to get rid of it through skin (sweat) or excretion (urine, feces). When the body is overloaded, that's when people start breaking out.

The primary organs for filtering your body of toxins are your kidneys and liver. If you strengthen these and eat well (no packaged foods, lots of veggies/fruits, cut down on meat consumption), your body will no longer be overwhelmed with toxins.

I would recommend going to see a Naturopathic Doctor or Doctor of Chinese Medicine. These practitioners are good for dealing with symptoms that are caused by weakness in your overall system. Ask for referrals from friends/family/acquaintances as you want a good doctor.

Try washing your hair often with a clarifying shampo, maybe one with grapefruit extract, mint, lemongrass, or tea tree oil.
Also, just applying pure tea tree oil to your scalp and around your hairline should help.
Keep your face clean and don't over handle your face or overbrush or overcomb your hair, this creates more oil which can make the acne worse.
My sister has suffered for 40 years with a breaking out on her scalp that gets worse when she's upset. Scale like and red raised areas. Drove her nuts.. would spread all over her scalp and even into her ears. Not to long ago her beautician told her to try putting ordinary Listerine on it. Sure enough it has cleared it up. When it start to come back she just dabs some cotton balls with it and puts it on her scalp. She swears by it. Plain not any of the flavored stuff. Good Luck
