About ambien?

ive been taking ambien everynight for eight months now and i think ive become a little dependant on them. i cant sleep without them and i get nervous without them. how should i kick the habit

Does anyone know what a safe dose of blue cohosh is?

Answers:
The best suggestion would be to speak to your doctor about getting off the medication if you are worried about dependency. Your doctor knows why you are taking it and knows if there is something else that you could take to replace it with that doesn't cause dependency. Even so you shouldn't just stop taking the ambien, you should back off from taking it slowly. Unfortunately breaking a dependency on any drug takes a lot longer than building up a dependency. I know I've been there and done that.
Example:
Try alternating a half dosage one night with a whole dosage the next night for a couple of weeks if you tolerate that then try cutting it down to just half dosage every night. When you feel that you are doing okay with that try alternating no medication with the half dosage. If that works then try going without any medication.
Good luck.

What is your main consideration when choosing a massage therapist?

I had the same situation with Ativan.
I don't know if this is what you SHOULD do, but it's what I did about four weeks ago. I started taking the Ativan every other night. On the night I didn't take it, I couldn't fall asleep, so I took a Benadryl (which wasn't so bad, because I have horrible allergies right now anyways.) That helped me fall asleep. Within two weeks I had weaned myself to where I was just taking the Benadryl every few nights if I couldn't fall asleep. Now I don't really have to take either one at all. Unfortunately, I am still having some nightmares (which is why I started taking the Ativan to begin with) but I didn't want to be on it any more, and I'm pretty well through the stressful situation that I was in, so I figure the nightmares will ease up with time. At least I'm off the Ativan. Mine was the lowest possible dosage, so I'm sure that helped. I'm not sure if this will work for you or not.

Any Distance Healers Out There?

What effects does catnip have on humans?

you might try something herbal like a strong pashionflower chamomile tea. ( dont use teabags get the raw herbs and steep them in luke warm water for a few minutes, then drink with a dash of honey, )
i wouldnt recommend valerian as it has a tendency to give nightmares to anxious people even though it is very good at putting you to sleep

i get frequent headaches. i undergo lot of stress. is there any good remedy without medications?

ambien is addictive -- the doctor that prescribed them should have warned you. you can take some 5 htp that might help with the nerves and melatonin might help you sleep better without them but you should probably find another doctor that is used to treating addictions. doctors that just dispense pills just make it worse all the way around. i take 9 mgs of melatonin about an hour before bedtime and if i wake up in the middle of the night i take another 6 mgs. it does't have any medicinal effects like ambien.

Anyone know of a good Omega-3 containing spread?

I use Benydryl every night (actually a generic version to save money). When it does not work, I use an herbal product called Valerian Root Extract. Between these, I sleep as well as when they had me on prescription sleep aids.
