garlic can help! make an infusion of garlic in olive oil (place 5-7 minced fresh cloves of garlic in a 1/4 cup of olive oil, heat in a double boiler for 15 minutes strain and bottle) place the infused oil behind your ears and down the outside of your throat to help fight infection.

gargling with a cap full or two of raw apple cider vinegar in a coffee cup filled with hot water (as hot as you can take), sprinkled with a layer of cayenne pepper can be used throughout the day to help a throat infection.

also, you may consider ear candling for ear/throat infections.

Is it O.K. to take Benadryl for sleeping ONLY?

Ok, this is going to sound weird, but Xylitol gum helps with ear and throat infections and keeps the eustachian tubes clear of bacteria. I just did a study on this last night, and found that it helps with oral Candida infections of the mouth, which I would be concerned about because you have been on antibiotics.
