What are the drugs widely used in ICUs and what for??

Question:
Please help me with this research I'm doing, resources would be very helpful as well.

Answers:
This is a strange question! There are various types of ICUs. Depending on what kind of patients come to the ICU will determine the drugs they have. They have vasoactive medications, emergency cardiac drugs, pain medication, laxatives, antibiotics.
Try researching by disease type rather than by location in a hospital.
dopamine, diladid, versaid, cardi. or any antibiotic. keep in mind mostly all meds in icu are drips or piggybacks aka threw the iv.
There are numerous reason for being in an ICU setting. This could range from trauma to heart attack and stroke, to cancer or infection. I would recommend finding a textbook named 'The ICU Book' by Paul L. Marino. 2nd edition. (There is also now a 3rd edition out). I am sure you can loan it out from a library. It is often used in medical school and residency training.
