What is the best way to relieve really bad sunburn?

Question:
It hurts so bad!! Please no smart alec answers. My back muscles are already bruised so im in a lot of pain!

Answers:
I got pretty bad sunburn about 3 weeks ago. It went away for the most part in about a week. I was left with a pretty nice tan (which I got after I peeled really bad).

I put some aloe vera on it a couple times after my shower. About 5 days after my burn I started to peel really bad. It was pretty gross, and the peeling lasted for at least a week.

Theres not much you can do. it WILL hurt. If you tan after you burn then you will be left with a nice tan that should last a while. I still have mine although it is starting to fade.

Good luck!

Lotions that contain Aloe Vera - and lots of it! NOT fresh Aloe Vera.

noxzema!! trust me honey, it works so0o0o0o good, it cools, it and heals it !! also aloa vera is a natural burn healer

Hi,,, ok,,, this may sound bad,, but it will help some,,, take the hottest shower you can.. for some reason it pulls out the heat from your burn.
Next use a lotion with Aloe in it,,, it relieves the pain also..
If it gets too unbearable,, go to the emergency room,,, they have creams and ointments that may can help more than over the counter stuff.

good luck.

Drink a LOT of water for the next couple of days. Use aloe vera on the tender spots as many times a day as you need. You'll also feel better after a cool bath with oatmeal in it (also good for chicken pox or other uncomfortable skin conditions). Also, wear loose clothing. And don't let it happen again!

ok, first of course aloe vera, i'm sure everyone is telling you this. also try taking some iburfeon on tylenol. cool baths are great ( showers just beat down on it and make the pain sting worse). I also found that CLINIQUE's after sun product ( I am not sure what it is exactly called ) is execellent. It is about $20 but it works wonders. It has aloe vera and a bunch of other soothing ingrediants.

Aloe.and I mean the natural aloe. Most grocery stores carry it.if not try a health food store. Cut the outer skin off one side and refrigerate. After about 30 minutes.<I keep one in the fridge at all times> rub the sticky side on the burn. It is cold at first..but feels sooooo good in the long run. If you can't find aloe leaves.use a sunburn product that contains aloe. Lavender oil spray or vinegar and then thick , heavy after sun lotions.

Easy - spray-on Lidocaine will help you numb the pain ASAP. I use it all the time, especially when I'm taking antibiotics and get sunburned accidentally and more easily. I can't believe nobody mentioned this already.

Go to a health food store and get aloe vera juice and pure lavender essential oil (not the perfume crap). Also get one of those little spray bottle things.most stores (grocery/pharmacy/etc) have them in the travel area. Add about 4 oz of aloe vera jucie and 20 drops of lavender oil. Refrigerate and spray on as needed. Keeping it in the refrigerator gives you that extra soothing cool experience, the aloe heals the burn, and the lavender helps prevent scar tissue, as well as being an antiseptic and antibacterial agent.
